Verona’s public schools will be closed again on Tuesday. That means that two of our three allotted school days will once again be gone before winter even hits. Hurricane Sandy is expected to make landfall in southern New Jersey at about 6 p.m.

Our Lady of the Lake School is also closed tomorrow, and all after-school sports at Verona High School are cancelled, as is the Board of Education meeting.

According to the Verona Police Department, a decision on whether the school and township Halloween celebrations will be changed will be announced Tuesday at approximately 5 p.m. based on discussions with the Board of Ed and the Township regarding public safety.

If schools are open on Wednesday, October 31, it will be a half day for students, following the approved district calendar. The Verona town horn will sound 2 times at 7 a.m. and again at 7:05 a.m. whenever the schools are closed.
