Team Zoey is sponsoring their second annual “Miles of Hope” Turkey Trot 5K benefit run/walk to help find a cure for Progeria, a rapid aging syndrome afflicting children, including Verona’s Zoey Penny.

The event will be held on Saturday, November 24 in Verona Park, and  registration starts at 8 a.m. The start time for 5K runners is 9:15 a.m. and the two-mile Fun Run/Walk will begin at 10:00 a.m.

There will be different entry fees for those who want to participate in the 5K Run and in 2-mile Run/Walk. Runner pre-registration is $25 and same-day registration is $35. Walker registration is free for children six and under; ages 7 to 12 pay $10 and ages 13 and over pay $20.

You can register online through the Team Zoey Web site. Register before October 31 and you’ll receive a free t-shirt.
