If you’re a multi-sport household, you’re going to be eating a lot of meals on the run this week. But you can unwind at the end of the week at Kinderfest and Oktoberfest at OLL. Here’s what’s up:
Monday, October 8: Town offices closed, public schools are open. Girls soccer team plays in the Essex County Tournament at MKA, 4 p.m. Girls tennis plays West Orange at home, 4 p.m. Volleyball is away at Cedar Grove, 7 p.m. start. This is the team’s “Dig Pink” fundraiser for breast cancer research. Liberty Tax Service is holding open houses all week to register students for their tax preparation classes.
Tuesday, October 9: Girls and boys track teams have the SEC championship races in Branch Brook Park, 3 p.m. Tennis has an NJSIAA tournament game at VHS, 3 p.m. start. Boys soccer is home at Centennial Field against Newark Academy, 4 p.m. start. Board of Education meeting at VHS, 8 p.m.
Wednesday, October 10: Eutopia Beauty Studio has an all day cut-a-thon to raise money for c, a cancer treatment program, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Girls soccer plays MKA at MKA and tennis plays Livingston at home. Both 4 p.m. starts. Verona Municipal Alliance Committee meeting, 7:30 p.m. Community Center.
Thursday, October 11: Girls soccer plays Bloomfield at Centennial while the boys team faces Nutley away. Girls tennis is home versus Caldwell and the volleyball team takes on Montclair in the main gym at VHS. All 4 p.m. starts. Belly dancing with wine at Verona Yoga, 7:30-8:30 p.m.
Friday, October 12: Kinderfest at Our Lake of the Lake, 4 to 9 p.m. Football team faces Glen Ridge at the lower VHS field, 7 p.m. night game.
Saturday, October 13: Marching Maroon and White compete in the Yamaha Cup marching band competition at Giants stadium. The 30+ band competition starts at 9 a.m., but Verona doesn’t take the field until 9:30 p.m. Oktoberfest at Our Lake of the Lake, 6 to 11 p.m.
