Verona High School Marching Band marching up Sampson Drive. By Virginia CitranoPhotographer: Virginia Citrano

To be at the football games now, the Verona High School Marching Maroon and White has to march up and down Sampson Drive. It’s tough when you’ve got a sousaphone to shoulder, but it definitely adds to the spectacle of the day. The band is today’s “Verona View”.

That should help remind you that today, October  6, there were will be 14 bands marching from Sampson into Doc Goeltz Field. The lower field at VHS will be the site of a marching band festival starting at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults, $5 for seniors and non-Verona students, and $3 for children 12 and under, and are available at the gate. Verona students are free. There will also be lots of food for sale at family-friendly prices.

“Verona View” is a new daily photo feature from MyVeronaNJ.com that will highlight people, places and events in Verona, N.J. Take a photo with your camera phone, DSLR or anything in between and send it in. MyVeronaNJ.com will feature one reader photo every day. To submit your photo, email it,  or text it to 973-632-4015, or post it to our Facebook page.
