Verona High School Athletic Director Gary Farishian ran in the 11th annual Tunnel to Towers run in New York City on September 30.

He is pictured with FDNY firefighter James Corson holding a banner in honor of Michael Cammarata, an FDNY firefighter who died in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. Cammarata, who with Corson played hockey for Farishian at Wagner College, died nine weeks into the training program with Ladder Company 11 in Manhattan.

This year, 30,000 runners participated in the event, with proceeds helping to support the Wounded Warrior Project to build smart homes for disabled veterans.
