You’ve got until October 16 to register to vote in this year’s presidential election, but why cut things that close? The New Jersey Department of State has put all the information you need on its Voter Information site. You can even download the form you need to register.
The Web site contains information for military and overseas voting, as well as vote by mail applications.
To register as a voter in Essex County you must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old by the next election and a resident of the county for 30 days before the election. Registration forms are also available at Division of Motor Vehicle offices.
