The Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit’s annual Gathering Sunday will take place on Sunday, September 9, beginning at 9:30 a.m., kicking off a new year of Sunday School classes. Sunday School registration begins shortly before 9:30 a.m. and, like a worship service, each class includes times for gathering, praising God and giving thanks. After class, children join their parents for church during Holy Communion. Gathering Sunday is a perfect opportunity to visit this young and vibrant community to see if Holy Spirit’s Sunday School program is a good match for your children.
Says Cathy Jackson, coordinator of Christian Formation at Holy Spirit, “Christian formation doesn’t happen in a week, a month or a year… it’s a lifelong process of learning and growing in faith.” Throughout the year, children attend Sunday School classes, may participate in a children’s choir, the annual Christmas pageant, and outreach opportunities to serve others.
The Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit is located at 36 Gould Street, opposite the track behind H.B. Whitehorne School. Park in the lot, and come in through the red door adjacent to the lot. It is an open, welcoming, and inclusive community. For more information about Christian Formation at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit, please contact Cathy Jackson at 973-600-7628.
