Verona recently had four new firefighters graduate from the Essex County Fire Academy in Cedar Grove, and many members of the Verona Fire Department turned out for the ceremony. Pictured drom left to right are Capt. Steven Hayes, Asst. Chief Harvey Goodman, Fire Fighters Jerry DeYoung, Matt Gifford, Charlie Mortimer (graduate), Sam Bendsten (graduate), Jeff Davis (graduate), Pete DelRosso, Kevin Kingston; Lt. Bill Neal, and Fire Fighter Kevin Toscano. Not pictured is Fire Fighter Nick Laietta, who also graduated but was not present at the ceremony.
