Verona UNICO’s annual 5K race kicks off tomorrow morning, Monday September 3, in Verona Park. The service group’s big fundraiser begins with a one-mile fun run at 9 a.m. and the headliner race at 9:30.
The Labor Day race, which is co-sponsored by the Essex Running Club, draws runners from all over northern New Jersey, but there will be plenty of Verona faces to cheer, too. Look for the Verona High School cross country squad, and the VHS boys soccer team, among others.
Online registration for the runs are closed, but you can register in person at Fleet Feet Sports, 603 Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair today from noon to 4 p.m. You can also register at the race itself tomorrow. Same day registration for the fun run is $10 (or $15 with a T-shirt); the 5K will cost you $25.
