The last hurrah of summer is upon us and some local businesses are changing their hours for Labor Day weekend. You can get all the details on ShopVerona.com, our companion site for the business community in Verona and businesses owned by Veronans in neighboring towns. Here are some of the highlights:

John J. Curley Stone, located in North Caldwell but owned by Verona residents, will be closed for the Labor Day weekend on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Get your contractor up there now, or you’ll have to wait until Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. to work on your patio or paving.

Rocktec Music, which is usually closed Sundays, will also be closed on Labor Day, as will Sylvan Learning Center.

You can work out at Jazzercise on Saturday and Sunday, but the exercise studio will be closed on Monday. Starseed Yoga & Fitness, which moved to Verona from Montclair earlier this summer, will have a class on Labor Day morning. Things are more hard core at Hardbodyz Fitness. It is open almost all day on Saturday and Sunday, and will also be open on Monday until noon.

UPDATES: JT’s Barber Shop has three barbers in on Saturday until 4 p.m. It will be open Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. for last-minute back-to-school haircuts. If you’d rather get a jump on fall landscaping, Hillcrest Farms is open Labor Day 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Keep checking ShopVerona.com for more holiday weekend updates. If your favorite businesses are already on ShopVerona.com, think about giving them a review so the rest of the world will know why you like them. If they’re not yet listed, let us know and we’ll help them get started. ShopVerona.com is opened to businesses in Verona, whether they are stores, restaurants or professional offices, or even based at home or in a contractor’s truck. ShopVerona.com also welcomes businesses that Verona residents operate elsewhere in Essex County.
