We’ve gotten word that Mary Curtis Hanes, a Verona native who built a successful career in Hollywood as a writer and producer, died early this week at home in Studio City, Calif. She was 59.
Hanes authored several plays, including The Crimson Thread, and was most recently the co-executive producer ABC Family’s Make It or Break It, a series on Olympic gymnasts.
Her family is planning a memorial service. In lieu of flowers, they are asking that donations in her honor be made to the Women’s Cancer Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. The full obituary is in The Hollywood Reporter.
