Police Take Drug Awareness Program To Schools

Every year, the Verona P.B.A. Local 72 brings the drug abuse education program D.A.R.E. to fifth graders at Our Lady of the Lake School (above) and H.B. Whitehorne Middle School (below). Officers Dan Greco and James Barry (left and right above) and Robert Shafer (not pictured) helped with the program.

After learning about ways to resist drugs and gangs, and improve their self-esteem, the students get a pizza party paid for by the P.B.A.. The Verona Junior Woman’s Club and DiPaolo Bakery donated cupcakes, and the Verona Municipal Alliance Committee paid for the D.A.R.E. T-shirts.
