Verona residents Shannon Dillon and Christina Nalbone received their nursing pins last month as part of the first graduating class for Caldwell College‘s bachelor of science in nursing program. The BSN program recently received accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, a national accrediting agency.
“This is very exciting as CCNE accreditation recognizes the educational quality and integrity of our nursing program. Accreditation demonstrates that we meet CCNE standards and key elements. We are delighted that our first nursing class graduates from an accredited program,” said Marycarol Rossignol, PhD, RN, CNL, director of nursing at Caldwell College.
Caldwell College began its nursing program in fall of 2010. The BSN program is a four-year program that begins with liberal arts and science courses in the first two years and follows with the nursing courses in the final two years. The program offers clinical instruction at hospitals and community affiliates in the region.
