Uncontested BOE Election

John Quattrocchi and Joseph Bellino, both long-serving members of the Verona Board of Education, have filed to run again for the BOE election in November. They will be running unopposed. Quattrocchi is the BOE’s current president and Bellino its vice president.

In January, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie signed a measure to move board of education elections from April to November. The governor also eliminated a direct public vote on the budget, which accounts for 55% of our taxes in Verona. Turnout for BOE and school budget elections has been very low in recent years.
