Verona United Soccer Club, a youth recreational league, will hold tryouts for fall teams this Saturday, June 9. Attendance is mandatory for team placement.
U-8 boys and girls (those born from August 2004 to July 2005) should check in at the Linn Drive field by the Verona Community Center at 4:45 p.m. for a 5 to 5:30 p.m. workout session.
U-9 and U-10 players check in at 5:15 p.m. for tryouts from 5:45 to 7:00 p.m. Boys report to Centennial Field, girls should go to Linn Drive. U-9 players are born August 2003 to July 2004, while U-10 players are born August 2002 to July 2003.
U-11 and U-12 players check in at 6:30 p.m. for tryouts from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Again, boys report to Centennial Field, girls go to Linn Drive. U-11 players are born August 2001 to July 2002, U-12 players are born August 2000 to July 2001.
U-13 and U-14 players check in at 8 p.m. for tryouts from 8:30 to 10 p.m., by field as above. U-13 players are born August 1999 to July 2000, U-14 players are born August 1998 to July 1999.
Spring 2012 players must register with their current team manager, but any new or returning players must register by e-mail with Paula Horton.
Soccer cleats or gym shoes must be worn, as well as shin guards. No jewelry and bring water. Players will be notified of teams by June 18. For more information, see Verona United’s Web site.
