Lynne Barrett At Watchung Booksellers

Lynne Barrett, a graduate of Verona High School, is now an award-winning short story writer and a professor in Florida. She will be back near her old neighborhood on Thursday, May 31, to read from her latest collection of stories at Watchung Booksellers. The book, Magpies, has won this year’s Gold Medal for General Fiction in the Florida Book Awards.

Barrett has also received an Edgar Award for best mystery short story. She teaches in the MFA program at Florida International University in Miami and at many writers’ conferences around the country.

Everyone is invited to a reception at 6:30 p.m., before the reading at 7 p.m. Watchung Booksellers is located at 54 Fairfield Street, just behind the Watchung Avenue train station.
