This Sunday, April 29, there will be a cut-a-thon at Verona’s Dekko & Co. Salon to defray medical expenses for a Caldwell girl who was burned in a fire last month.  Kiersten Parks has been recovering at Saint Barnabus Hospital from a combination of first, second and third-degree burns since the March 20 fire in her apartment.

The cut-a-thon will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Dekko, which is located at 470 Bloomfield Avenue opposite the entrance to Verona Park.  Haircuts or blowouts will be $20; red hair extensions, manicures and lip or eyebrow waxing will be $10 apiece. There will also be a bake sale and tricky tray.

The whole thing is being organized by Dekko stylist Lauren Fletcher and you can contact her at 973-239-1133 for more information or to make a donation. A Facebook page has been set up with information on other fundraisers.
