Mr. Carmine V. Lavingno, 68, died on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the Hackensack University Medical Center. A funeral mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona on Wednesday, April 18 at 10:30 a.m. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m.

Born in Newark, Mr. Lavingno moved to Verona in 1969. Mr. Lavingno served in the U.S. Navy as an electrician’s mate from 1961 to 1964. He was an electrician with Local 68, working at Seton Hall University in South Orange.

He is a former captain, former president and life member of the Verona Rescue Squad and formerly served with the Verona Ambulance Unit.

Mr. Lavingno is the husband of Joyce (nee Fischetti) Lavingno, the father of Vincent and Jeffrey, and the brother of Rose Marie Wichowski (and her husband, Eugene) and Theresa Matrisciano (and her husband, Joseph). He is also survived by his sister-in-law Rosemary Forte (and her husband, Nicholas) and many nieces, nephews and one great niece.
