Will LaRiccia was a key member of the Verona High School golf team and he is proving to be just as key to his college team at Arcadia University. Last week, LaRiccia shot an 84 during a meet at the Springhaven Country Club (Par 70, 6518 yards) that helped Arcadia tie for first place with host Widener University.
LaRiccia’s coach called him the big star of the day. “Will had some difficulty with his swing earlier this week,” Rick Brownell said. “He fell short of finishing Monday’s round, but demonstrated a staggering turn-around performance this afternoon. Will can barely practice because he has such a cumbersome academic schedule, so we weren’t expecting such a contribution. All we did was work on his stance and on range and Will did the rest… just remarkable!”
LaRiccia, a freshman, is a computer science major. The Arcadia team next competes on Tuesday, April 17, at Ursinus.
