Verona’s school board election shifts to November this year from April, and if you want to be a candidate, you can pick up an election packet starting today, Friday, April 13. The terms of two Board of Education members–Joe Bellino and John Quattrocchi–expire this year. Quattrocchi is running for re-election; we have not yet heard back from Bellino.
The candidacy packages can be obtained at the school district office at 121 Fairview Avenue (the side of Verona High School closest to the corner of Franklin). You’ll need to collect the necessary signatures and submit your candidacy to the county by June 5. All the rules about school board elections are on the Web site of the New Jersey School Boards Association.
I hope Joe comes back these are 2 strong members with the experience this town needs….
