The Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit has over 15 services planned for Holy Week, including two just for children.

On Good Friday, April 6, the church will hold its annual Stations of the Cross for children at 10 a.m. With their parents, children can carry the cross, touch the nails, feel the crown of thorns and taste the vinegar as they process through the Stations of the Cross in an age-appropriate, multi-sensory way.

Easter Sunday, April 8, starts at 9:15 a.m. as Sunday School participants as they dig up the “Alleluia” banner that they buried on the the first Sunday in Lent. The “A-Word”, as Holy Spirit has come to call it, is a joyful word that is traditionally not said during Lent. Holy Spirit’s children bury the banner at the start of Lent to remind themselves not to use the word until Easter. That is followed by the church’s Easter service and a traditional Easter Egg Hunt on the Parish Lawn, weather permitting.

The Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit is located at 36 Gould Street in Verona and draws members from many diverse communities. For more information, contact the church at 973-239-2850 or by e-mail.
