Mr. Charles M. Dougherty, 57, died on Thursday, February 9, 2012 in St Barnabas Medical Center. A funeral mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church on Tuesday, February 15 at 10 a.m. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m.
Born in Newark, Mr. Dougherty moved to Verona in 1994. He has an associate degree in biochemistry from Essex County College and a bachelors degree in psychology from Rutgers University.
Mr. Dougherty was a counselor at the Mountainside Hospital in Glen Ridge, a certified Handwriting Analyst, and was an avid gardener.
He was predeceased by his parents, Charles A. and Gloria I. Dougherty. He is survived by his siblings, James Dougherty and his wife Marie; Beatrice Pietropaolo and her husband Joseph; Eileen Dougherty; Mary Rose Dougherty and her partner Tiffany; Anne Ragozzino and her husband Louis, and Maureen Dougherty and her partner Tom Willis. He is also survived by nine nieces and nephews.
