The last nine months have been a whirlwind for Dan DePalma. Last May, the Verona High School graduate was invited to work out at Eli Manning’s camp during the lockout. Then the Jets brought him over to their summer camp. DePalma played a pres-season game for the Jets against Philadelphia (see the video), and was then cut from the team. But within a matter of days he was picked up by the Giants and signed to their practice squad. And there he has stayed, as the Giants went on a wild ride that has taken them all the way to an overtime 20-17 playoff victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
DePalma is getting an NFC championship ring along with the rest of the team for that victory. And when the Giants head to Indianapolis for Super Bowl XLVI, DePalma will be traveling with them: To help them prepare for what his Verona relatives (and a few other people we know) expect will be a Giants victory.
