Mr. Miklos J. Laszlo, 82, died on Friday, December 23, 2011 at his home in West Orange. Services will be held in the Church of the Holy Spirit, Gould Street, Verona on Tuesday, December 27 at 1 p.m. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona, on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m.
Born in Godollo, Hungary, Mr. Laszlo was a university professor and director of libraries in the Budapest area until the 1959 Revolution. In 1962 he founded M. Laszlo, Painting & Decorating, and moved to West Orange in 1967. In 1989 he formed American Investors Group Inc., an importer & distributor of Hungarian wines and liquor. Mr. Laszlo has served on the Board of Directors of many Hungarian Clubs in the North Jersey area.
He is the husband of the late Maria Markus Laszlo, the father of Maria Force, Miklos Laszlo and his wife Kathleen and Martha Drevis. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Rebecca Force, Rita Drevis, Kimberly Force, Christina Drevis, Jenna Laszlo and Miklos Laszlo.
