The Verona Police Department is saying that a water main break has occurred on Bloomfield Avenue near Gould Street. Water Department crews are making repairs, but residents and businesses on the avenue between Lakeside and Grove may experience either no water or discolored water this afternoon. Residents of surrounding streets may also become affected as repairs are made. H.B. Whitehorne Middle School does not appear to be affected by the break at this time.

Once water service is restored, the police are reminding you that, if you experience discolored water, running the tap for a few minutes should resolve the problem.

The VPD says it does not know how long the repairs will take.
