For many of us, Christmas is a bittersweet time of year. It is a time for remembering both persons and events that have been a part of our lives in the past, but that are now changed or gone. We experience a profound sense of loss, and have difficulty participating in what should be a joyous season.

This is the time of year with the longest nights, so around this time many people appreciate a quiet, meditative worship service that makes time for remembering, sharing
our grief and loss with God, and preparing our hearts for the coming of Christ. All in our community are welcome to come to the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit on December 13 at 7:30 p.m. to join in this time of special music, scripture, stories, silent reflection, healing prayer and communion to share the hope and light that God promises to us all.

The Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit is a Christ-centered church that welcomes and includes all people; worships and learns as a community; encourages individual growth and participation; and shares its gifts with others. The church is located at 36 Gould Street in Verona and draws members from many diverse communities. Come as you are. All are welcome. For more information, contact the church at 973-239-2850 or by e-mail.
