Alison Sprong had seven saves for the 9th-seeded Verona Hillbillies on Monday as they shut out Cresskill High School, the 4th seed, 2-0 in the semifinals of North Jersey, Section 1, Group 1 in Cresskill. Junior Olivia Marino and Sydney White led the way with one goal apiece and freshman Julia Ashley assisted on both goals. Verona (13-8) battles Midland Park later this week for the North 1, Group 1 title.
