The BJV White team improved to 4-2 with a hard-fought 12-0 win over Bloomfield on the frozen tundra of Centennial Field this past Saturday. Heavy snow began prior to kick-off, and it was apparent that the defenses would dominate.

Michael Carsillo, Patrick Morisseau, Nickolai Bujnowski and Gavin Freeman were dominant on defense, playing nearly the entire game. Anthony Zamloot, Chris Sabo, Brian Hipp and Matt Frungillo also assisted in ensuring that Bloomfield would not score a single point.

Matt Aldiero did an amazing job of snapping the ball in difficult conditions. Jack Gautieri, Michael Johnson and Alan Stoloff also braved the icy temperatures, working to open holes for the Eagles to run through.

Finally, Zach Balogh took a direct snap from Aldo around left end and ran 30 yards down the left sideline for the game’s first score.

In the second half, the Eagles found themselves without quarterback Nick Giuliano who had been injured. Coach Frungillo tried a variety of ball carriers. Eventually he called upon Brendan Wallace, who bolted around left end and raced 60 yards through the ice and snow for the touchdown.

The game would end as a 12-0 win for the Eagles, but the boys who played in the game will remember it for the rest of their lives!
