Schools Iffy For Tuesday

Those of you without heat, power or Internet might not want to hear this, but Verona public schools look iffy for Tuesday. Forest Avenue and Laning Avenue elementary schools have power, and H.B. Whitehorne has power in half the building. But Brookdale, F.N. Brown and Verona High School have no power as of this writing. The school district is waiting for word from PSE&G on whether it stands any chance of having power restored today before making a decision about tomorrow.

As for Halloween in the schools, the details are still being worked out. And yes, all of this is making a serious dent into our budgeted snow days for the year.
