Tennis Tops Caldwell, Volleyball Vanquishes Mountaineers

Verona girls tennis moved their record to 12-8 with a 4.5 to .5 win over Caldwell on Wednesday. Jackie Noyes continued her winning streak with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Rosalinda Boronat. Ashley Stockwell took home a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Sara Lobdel and Ciarra Davison won 6-4, 6-3 over Paige Mitsifier. The doubles team of Caroline Chivily and Briana Tedesco scored a 6-4, 6-3 win and Jasmine Okafor and Allie Vaccaro picked up the half point with a split.

The volleyball finished out the regular season with a 25 -12, 25- 17 away sweep of the Mountaineers of West Orange High School. Molly Cummings, Katie Egan, Sarah Frawley, Amanda Langan and Casie Milmoe combined for 18 digs. Langan led the way with seven kills and Frawley had two aces in the win. Ellen DiDia’s service points helped the JV battle back to win 2-1 to finish out their season.
