Volleyball, Girls Tennis Post Wins

Verona High School, playing at home, swept Columbia High School in Monday volleyball action 25-16, 25-14. Seniors Molly Cummings and Sarah Frawley led the way for the Hillbillies combining for nine aces, eight kills and 14 digs. Junior Amanda Langan chipped in with four kills. Senior Emily Symons had 14 assists and three digs. The 12-10 Hillbillies travel to South Orange today to once again take on Columbia.

The girls tennis swept Golda Och Academy to move their record to 10-8. Junior Jackie Noyes topped Samantha Jay 6-2, 6-1. After dropping the first set 4-6, senior Ashley Stockwell battled back to beat Gabi Wolberger with 6-0, 7-5 victories. Sophomore Ciarra Davison won her match over Jordan Schenker 6-2, 6-0. The doubles team of Caroline Chivily/Briana Tedesco breezed to a 6-1,6-1 win over Talia Schonfeld/Rachel Schwartzman and Jasmine Okafor and Allie Vaccaro won their match over Hannah Cohen/Sayde Slobodien.
