The Junior Women’s Club of Verona will hold its first Halloween Family Fun Day on Saturday, October 22, from 9:30 a.m. to noon in the cafeteria and gymnasium at Verona High School. Children of all ages will enjoy a variety of carnival games, crafts and children’s entertainment.
Thanks to the generosity of Michael Matarazzo Landscaping, each child will be able to decorate and take home his or her own pumpkin. Verona’s librarian, Cheryl Ashley, will have a Halloween story time and will also bring a variety of Halloween books for the children to read and enjoy.
In addition to Halloween games, there will be a number of tricky tray baskets for raffle, including two tickets to Radio City Music Hall’s Christmas Spectacular Show, a free manicure/pedicure from Bella Salon, discounts and prizes from Monster Mini Golf, a free photography session from a local photographer and a free brunch for four at the Chart House.
Families will pay an admission fee to enter the event. Proceeds will help the Juniors continue their mission of promoting education, preserving natural resources, encouraging healthy lifestyles, working on behalf of the elderly and people with disabilities, advocating for issues of concern to women, children and families and supporting participation in the arts. A portion of the proceeds from this event will also go to UNICEF. Feel free to dress in costume and get ready to have some Halloween fun.
