The Verona Town Council holds its regular first Monday of the month meeting tonight and, if you go, you’ll get a preview of the salaries that are going to need to be covered by next year’s budget. Most of Verona’s employees belong to one of two unions and the collective bargaining with those groups usually leaves us little wiggle room. This time, though, you’re likely to hear how the employees will be paying more for their health care in coming years. Not as much as the rest of us, but more than they had in the past.
The Town Council Meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the council chambers on the second floor of Town Hall. The salaries will also be the subject of discussion in the meeting on October 17.
