Though many people in Verona count the summer as over on Labor Day, there are diehards who hold onto it until the last second. Folks who hang on to their flip-flops and lounge chairs even as the weather signals that there are clearly big changes ahead. But on Friday, September 23, at 5:05 a.m. fall will indeed arrive in our part of the world.
What’s ahead for the fall in Verona? Lots of sports, to be sure. But our calendar is also full of events for pets, kids and seniors, in town and all over the county. There are tag sales small and large, like the one at the Presbyterian Church this weekend. If you’re having one, you can list it in our calendar (we have a Garage Sale category) or post it on Craigslist and we’ll pick it up on our “Verona On Craigslist” page. Tracy Bermeo is going to have lots of fall cooking and canning, from peaches and spaghetti sauce to pickled string beans. We’ll also be unveiling our new “Who in Verona” photo contest, something that Fred Goode has dreamed up to make you even crazier than “Where In Verona” did.
So before you get ready to welcome fall, take a minute to celebrate the summer that was in Verona, with this summer rewind.
