The Verona Town Council meets tonight, Monday, September 19, and it is likely to take action on three changes to traffic patterns in Verona, particularly in the Brookdale section of town.
Valhalla Way is going to be designated a “through street”, which means that the town will be able to place a stop sign at Sylvan. There could also be stop signs finally where Sunset Avenue and Park Avenue cross; a Council vote could turn that intersection into a three-way stop. Finally, the Council will review a plan to identify an entrance and an exit at the strip mall on Bloomfield Avenue that houses Krauzers, Subway and the Lucky Farmers Market. This is to cut down on the fender benders and traffic backups.
The Council meeting starts at 7 p.m., upstairs at Town Hall.
UPDATE 9/20: The changes were approved by all Council members.
