There are plenty of organizations in Verona that need volunteer help. Now, some volunteers have created a Web site to help residents learn all about them in one place, VeronaVolunteers.org. It is organized by category, from public safety to education, sports, environment, government, recreation and more. For most, all you need to do to sign up is contact the organization. For township government boards, committees or commissions, which have appointed volunteer positions, you only need to submit a letter of intent and a resume for consideration by the Town Council.

As we get ready to commemorate the 10th anniversary of 9/11, consider giving back to the community in honor of all the volunteers who helped out during the attacks and in memory of those who lost their lives.
