That’s Nick Lukas speeding to the finish line in the Labor Day 5K put on by UNICO in Verona Park. Lukas, a Verona High School senior, was the top finisher for the men, with a time of 17:44. Santi Condorelli, a UNICO officer, told the Verona Town Council last night that there were 750 racers in this year’s event, “and three times that amount of spectators”. Proceeds from the event fund UNICO scholarships and charity donations in and around Verona.
