NFL teams made a big round of cuts yesterday to meet the league’s 80-man rule, but Verona native Dan DePalma wasn’t among those waived. DePalma, who came to the Jets as an undrafted free agent after training at Eli Manning’s camp, is getting a lot of attention for the work he is putting in at the Jets training facility and in the preseason games.
The Jets, and the NFL’s other teams, have until 6 p.m. this Saturday to set their final 53-man rosters. DePalma will have one more opportunity to show why he should make it when the Jets play the Eagles in Philadelphia the Meadowlands Thursday night. The game will be broadcast on CBS beginning at 7 p.m. CBS’ Philadelphia radio station had a nice profile of DePalma yesterday.
If you want to know how much DePalma wants a pro football career, take a look at this demo video he put together.
