Cedar Grove Bear

No, our neighbors to the north have not changed their school mascot. There was a bear in Cedar Grove yesterday, and not the stuffed kind. According to Cedar Grove Police, the animal was spotted at several locations around town. As of 8 a.m. this morning, it had not been captured.

So, if it has been a while since you heard the bear safety talk with your favorite Cub Scout or Daisy, here’s a refresher: If you see a bear, don’t approach it and don’t run away. Chances are, the bear could run the 440 faster than you can. If you are going to hike or bike the Hilltop for the next few days, make as much noise as you can while you do so (so you do not surprise the bear). And by all means, leave the dog at home.
