Verona performers Kim Castellanos and Maya Fortgang will be joining 120 young artists from across the region on stage at the Paper Mill Playhouse later this month. Castellanos, a member of Verona High School’s Class of 2011 who is headed to Indiana University –Bloomington, and Fortgang, who is going into fifth grade, were selected to participate in the Paper Mill’s Summer Musical Theatre Conservatory. They and their fellow performers will be on stage in a fully produced, original concert at the Paper Mill titled “New Voices of 2011: I’ll Take Manhattan”.
“The New Voices Concert is unique in that it is tailored specifically to the talents of the students participating in the program each year,” remarked Mark S. Hoebee, Producing Artistic Director for Paper Mill Playhouse. “New Voices 2011 -I’ll Take Manhattan also has special significance because it is a salute to New York City. Music, art, romance, heartbreak, adventure – all take on a new meaning when they happen in the Big Apple. Through song, dance and narration the students will celebrate all that is inimitable about this great town.”
Performances of “New Voices of 2011: I’ll Take Manhattan”, will be held on Friday, July 29th at 7:30pm and Saturday, July 30th at 3:00pm and 7:30pm. Single tickets range in price from $25 to $45.
