Tomorrow’s Sunday Spotlight at the Montclair Historical Society will feature a Verona resident, Chris Tamburro and his father, Peter Tamburro. The younger Tamburro is a member of the Verona Rescue Squad and Verona Historical Society and a teacher at Verona High School. Peter Tamburro is a teacher of Advanced Placement History at the Frisch School in Paramus, and author of Gateway to Morris, a history of East Hanover.

The program is called “Reading Between the Lines”, and in it, you’ll get to examine the Tamburros’ collection of old newspapers to learn about history. After a brief introduction to their collection of historic papers, you’ll don white gloves and start perusing the papers to discover how you can “read between the lines” and find that newspapers can be a window to the past, not only through news stories, but editorials, the ads, and more.

The program is Sunday, July 12 from 1 to 3 p.m. It takes place at 108 Orange Road, Montclair, with a suggested donation of $5.
