This September will be the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on New York City and Washington that claimed the lives of two Verona residents, Bill Erwin and Steve Roach. The fund set up give out annual scholarships to Verona High School students in their memory has sent out an appeal for new donations. The September 11th Committee says that the funds that were raised for the scholarships 10 years ago have been depleted. Every dollar raised will go back into the scholarship program and the maintenance of the memorial in the center of town.
If you are able to make a donation, mail a check made out to “Verona September 11th Fund” to the committee at Town Hall, 600 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona, NJ 07044.
