If your child is headed to middle school in the fall, you’ll want to make time to attend “Middle School Transitions: What You Need to Know”, a program being put on by the Verona Municipal Alliance Committee. The session is this Thursday, June 9, in the Fireman’s Room on the second floor of the Verona Community Center at 7 p.m.
VMAC will talk about the challenges and pressures your child may experience as he or she transitions into middle school. Presenters include staff from Essex Prevention Resources, who will cover programs presented in the school addressing bullying, peer pressure around drinking and drugs, how to find your way around a new school, and how to handle new situations with ease and confidence.
There will be refreshments and time for a Q&A, and the program is free. For more information, contact Elizabeth Santeramo, VMAC chair, at 973-857-0787.
