Four teens were arrested in Verona at dawn yesterday after a chase that had taken them through Bloomfield and Montclair.

According to Verona Police, a 2000 white four-door Buick entered Verona at about 4:13 a.m. Verona officers followed the car west on Bloomfield Avenue and it tried to make a sharp right onto Pine Street, which is the small road between Nature’s Corner and the Cameco plant. The car hit a retaining wall and the four occupants fled on foot.

Verona Sgt. Mike Traettino arrested one subject after a short search, and Cedar Grove Police Officer Jason Rivers nabbed another. The other two subjects got away.

Verona Police named the 18-year-old arrested as Marcus Spencer of 315 Park Ave, 1st Floor, Newark. He was charged with eluding police, obstructing the administration of law and resisting arrest. A motor vehicle summons will also be issued. Spencer’s bail was set at $50,000. The juvenile was charged with Juvenile Delinquency for obstructing the administration of law and resisting arrest. He released to the custody of his mother. Charges for both are pending from the Bloomfield and Montclair police departments.
