Verona Park Fishing Derby Coming Up

This coming Thursday, May 19, is the date of Essex County’s 2011 Fishing Derby in Verona Park. The derby is free and open to children ages 15 and under. To participate, your kids must be accompanied by an adult and bring their own fishing pole, bait, bucket and chair. There will be prizes in various age categories for catching the first fish and the most fish. Registration for the derby begins at the boathouse at 5 p.m., fishing begins at 6 p.m. and the derby will be held rain or shine.
