Obituaries: Edward W. Hreniuk, Sr.

Mr. Edward W. Hreniuk, Sr., 75, died on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 in Glen Ridge. A funeral mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church on Saturday May 7 at 9:30 a.m. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Friday 2-4 & 7-9PM.

Born in Jersey City, Mr. Hreniuk served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1954 to 1962 and moved to Verona in 1975. He worked at Kuehne Chemical in South Kearny for 35 years, retiring as the purchasing agent 13 years ago. Mr. Hreniuk was an avid woodworker and his family and friends will cherish his handcrafted grandfather clocks.

He is the husband of Hedy Hreniuk, the father of Edward Hreniuk, Jr. and his wife Pamela and Karen Zawistowski and her husband Paul. Mr. Hreniuk is also survived by his brothers John and Stanley and his grandchildren Christopher, Jamie, TJ, Matthew and Rebecca. He was predeceased by his brothers Joseph and Tony and his sisters Helen, Caroline and Loretta.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
