If you could add one new service to Verona’s budget, what would it be?
During these challenging economic times I do not think it is prudent to be considering the addition of new services until we have taken every measure to reduce the budget and maximize current resources.
The reality is we can’t afford the offering of town services currently provided. The private business sector responded to the economic crisis by eliminating services and reducing fixed costs. It is naive for us to think that attrition is going to fix our fiscal problems without taxes continuing to escalate. The voters have told us that the increasing tax burden is unsustainable. We value our town personnel and we want to help equip them to compete more efficiently during this time of change. Lets get “Prepared” Together.
