On Tuesday, May 3, the Verona Historical Society is hosting its annual “Show and Tell” program to show of the hidden gems of Verona’s history. If you have a treasure from Verona’s past in your home–an old favorite, or newly acquired antique or collectible–the Historical Society would like you to bring it to the Community Center ballroom at 7:30 p.m. and share its story. The Historical Society will be telling its own stories about past events, family members and early residents. 1. Did you lose your battle with Essex County and Overbrook preservation?
I just learned that the Student Nurses’ Dorm is gone and maybe more buildings. How sad.
I was a student nurse in the late ’60’s and this was a sepecialty rotation that was required. I lived there for 12 weeks. It changed me forever.
I’m so sorry to see it go. I did write the County and the State about the possibility of transforming the bruildings into emergency preparedness patient care areas. Never heard back in the affirmative or the negative.
