Reinventing Verona: The Remodeling Survey

Once upon a time, Verona had large families living in small houses. Now, we have small families in houses that seemed to be getting larger every year. We’ve added bedrooms and bathrooms, turned summer sun porches into year-round family rooms and utilitarian basements into 21-century media centers.

Verona takes a lot of pride in its housing stock and, until the recession hit, we were keeping a small army of contractors, carpenters, electricians, roofers, landscapers and plumbers busy with our remodeling. Now, with signs that the downturn might finally be easing, we wondered what plans Veronans might have for their homes. Will we simply be catching up on deferred maintenance, or engaging in a few grand dreams? Will we be sprucing up our homes to sell or making them more comfortable to stay here as we age?

Our third Reinventing Verona survey asks for your plans for remodeling this year. We hope you’ll tell us about the work that you will be undertaking and the budget for it. As with our two previous surveys, this one is anonymous, and it is quick to complete. So take a few minutes out of your day to click on this link to start the Reinventing Verona Remodeling Survey.

In coming weeks, we’re going to begin to share with you some of the results of our questionnaires, so that you can get a better picture of the town you live in. And by the way, you still have a few days left to participate in these surveys:
