The Verona Recreation Department’s volleyball program for middle school girls is changing a bit this year. The volleyball clinic has been moved to spring and tryouts for the fall team will be held in June.
The clinic, which is open to girls in grades five through eight, will be held in the Verona Community Center gym on Tuesdays from 4 to 5 p.m. beginning April 26 and running through the end of May. The fee is $40 and you can register either through the Rec Department’s online system or in-person.
Tryouts for the Fall 2011 team, open to girls in 7th and 8th grades, will be held on Wednesday, June 1 and Thursday, June 2, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the Community Center gym. The fee is $85, which is paid after a player has made the team ($10 late fee after June 24). Girls must, however, register online for tryouts prior to June 1. Again, use the department’s online system.
